What Causes Cough With Chlorine Tasting Sputum?

Everytime I cough my phlegm taste like bleach or chlorine. I ve had a cold the last few days, pressure on my head, runny nose, and pretty bad cough. Also I jave a generally weak immune system right now, is this pneumonia? What is the weird taste in my mouth?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain foul tasting sputum along with symptoms of cold and cough along with runny nose and pressure in head can be due to upper respiratory tract infection that is viral in nature that is superseded with bacterial infection..
It can also be due to Bronchitis or lung infection..
I would suggest you to consult an ENT Expert or a Pulmonologist and get evaluated and he can advise you throat swab culture, sputum culture and chest x-ray to rule out the exact cause of the problem and treatment can be planned accordingly..
He can advise you antibiotics like Azithromycin, cephalexin on Azithromycin, antallergics like Cetrizine, mucolytics like Bromohexine and decongestants like Pseudoephadrine..
You should also do steam inhalations and use decongestant nasal sprays..
Sip on warm water throughout the day and suck throat lozenges..
Avoid chilled and sour foods..
