What Causes Cough With Thick Yellow Mucus When Diagnosed With COPD?
I am coughing up thick yellow mucus? What is that? I have been a smoker for 30 yrs. I smoke 8 cigs a day now. I have COPD and I also have asthma. I don t have a running nose but I do have a cough that just start 2 days ago. I am on 2 inhalers. Spiriva and Advair because and I known for getting bronchitis. But the thick yellow mucus just start 2 days ago...

I really appreciate your concern, this could be smokers cough and may be associated with infection so why there is yellow mucus secreted first this you need to do is stop the smoking, if this is febrile condition then it may need antibiotic and best would be "Tab Azithromycin 500 mg" once in day for three days, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day
