What Causes Cough?

hi! I'm female, 24years old, weighs 45kgs experiencing mild cough for more than 2 weeks now. I had cough a month or two ago and was prescribed a medicine (forgot the name) and an antibiotic which needs to be cut in half and dissolved in water and must be taken twice after meal which, apparently, did not help. Took OTC drug and an antibiotic and helped ease the cough. Now I'm experiencing cough again which starts by trickling of the throat. happens everytime I sleep and if the surrounding is too hot as I easily sweat.I consulted a doc again and she ruled out the possibility of tuberculosis. This cough keeps on coming back. I drink lots of warm water and is currently taking OTC drug and amoxicillin 500mg after meal at night . Please help. thanks a lot!

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, this could be allergic cough and such cough does not need any treatment, this may not be tubercular infection, taking antibiotic without any indication is not advisable, the rule is, if any cough symptoms does not improved within couple of days then this need to be investigated, hope this information helps.
