General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Coughing may cause vomiting in infants as they are not able to bring up the mucus from the back of their throat and spit it out. Vomiting is a way they clear their throat from mucus. Generally, the child feels much better for a couple of hours after vomiting the mucus as the cough improves a little.

If he is vomiting a lot (more than 2-3 times a day) you will need to have him examined again and make sure he is not getting dehydrated.
Meanwhile, try to breastfeed him frequently (if he is breastfeeding) or give him oral rehydration solutions in case he is not breastfeeding.

I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
