i have been coughing since Easter and for the last month, the coughing has led to vomiting. I have rarely had a fever (maybe 3 times and nothing passed 100.4) and have not had a sore throat. I have had a chest X-ray, pertussis swab, been on antibiotics and also steroids. Nothing has helped. My pcp cannot seem to figure out what it is. I have an upcoming appt. with an ENT and pulmonary specialist. Do you have any suggestions for me? Thank you!
Hi, From history as all reports are normal and not having fever with this spasmodic cough there is strong possibility of Eosinophilic bronchitis. Go for Eosinophil count. Even empirically given treatment for eosinophilia can begiven. Take Di-Ethyl- carbamazine (DEC ) like unicarbazine for 7 days. This might help to your problem. Ok and take care.
