What Causes Coughing Up Of Blood?

I often gag and cough and bring up a small amount of blood as a result from back in my throat. This happens usually just before bedtime. I also have been waking in the morning with nose bleeds when I blow first thing. Quite a bit of dried blood and solid snot comes up. I have seasonal allergies and take a Zyrtec daily for them. I also take a daily emeprazole for acid reflux issues. I just want to be sure the blood is a result of the sinuses and not my stomach issues.

Hello,

If blood is from stomach than it is usually brown coloured as blood get converted into acid hematin. And as you have bleeding from nose, mostly it seems to be from upper respiratory tract infection.

You have history of allergy as well. So, Rhinitis or sinusitis like infective condition can lead bleeding from nose.

Take Symptomatic management for that along with decongestant. Salt water gargle done with warm water three times a day and drink more water.

Consult physician or otorhinolaryngologist for examination and get prescription.
