What Causes Coughing Up Of Green Phlegm?
I have been fighting type a flu, now my cough is worse, wheezing, literally choke just to cough up nickel size blob of brownish green stuff. Have history of pneumonia, COPD, CAD, CHF, Diabetes type 2 amongst other things. Have had to increase oxygen from 2 liter to 4 to feel any help breathin. Never had flu before and don t know if this is the progression it takes or should be concerned about pneumonia

That indicates bacterial infection against which our body is trying to fight, and that greenish phlegm is dead neutrophils and killed bacteria so investigation should be done and take the treatment accordingly.
