What Causes Coughing Up Of Grey Sputum In A COPD Patient?

I have asthma, copd, and have been prescribed Levaquin 750 for a respiratory infection. An x-ray showed no pneumonia, however, I have been coughing up sputum that looks the color of grey purple. Can I cough this up while I m healing? My cough was nearly gone a few days ago, but now it s back and it s deep.

sometimes X ray doesn't show signs of infection. copd pt's have commonly cough with sputum production mostly in bronchitis .if you are getting recurring cough with sputum , you have to get done sputum microscopy and culture sensitivity that ll give final idea of the bacteria causing infection , there by switchover to specific antibiotics.
