What Causes Coughing With Blood, Chest Area Rash And Pain?

My boyfriend works at a Galvanizing company and works with the chemicals to prepare the metal. He coughed up a little of blood this morning and developed a rash on his chest/armpit area. It s reddish and spiderlike. He also said he is having lower back/chest lung area pains. Would you recommend he see a doctor or give it time?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
I would definitely recommend to see a Doctor as coughing up of the blood is a serious problem and should be clinically examined and investigated immediately as there can be an emergency due to sudden increase in bleeding.
The probable causes can be pharyngitis with enlarged blood vessels, bronchitis or tuberculosis.
I would suggest:
Blood- complete blood picture, kidney functions tests, blood sugar fasting and post-lunch,
Urine- routine, microscopy, culture and sensitivity ( before start of antibiotic)
Ultrasonography of abdomen. and most important is the X-ray of the chest.
I find this answer helpful
