What Causes Cracking And Popping In Toes And Fingers?

I have always popped my toes and fingers, but lately my right big toe constantly feels like it needs to pop. It cracks and makes a popping sound repeatedly but I never get relief. I feel like it needs to pop really bad, and the little pops aren't enough. It has gotten to the point that I am constantly popping it all day long. I can't even sleep at night bc it drives me crazy. I don't know what else to do.
