Hello,

Crepitus or cracking sound in the knees may be caused by knee injuries such as meniscus tears.

These are fairly common in people who play sports, jog or run. A meniscus tear can cause crepitus or crack as the joint moves.

So if there is only cracking sound and no pain or restricted movement, then there is no need to worry. But you can still see an orthopedician for a thorough examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
