What Causes Crackling In Ears?

My left ear is crackling. I ve tried yawning, gum chewing (which actually seems to make it worse), jaw stretching and I m about to try some drops in my ear to see if it s wax. The other ear doesn t crackle at all. I have not had a cold, I do not have allergies. Wondering if I need to get it checked.

Beard on your information it appears to me that out is a crepitis from your TM joint Or the sound may be from eaustachian tube.
It do occur in must people but as you have mentioned it happens in one ear only.I advice you to see ENT specialist for examination and tymphanometry.
