I ve been having an issue with my breathing lately. Its occasional thru out the day or night. Its a stuttering intake of breath as if I d been crying really hard. It happens when I m sitting or laying down. Don t know if its happened standing up. I can be working on the computer, sitting reading watching TV or laying down for sleep.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of crackling sound while breathing . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like COPD symptoms , acute bronchitis , acid reflux , asthmatic condition , sleeping apnea or upper respiratory infection. The symptoms can also occur due to eustachian tube dysfunction . For now eat light at night , take benadryl twice a day and keep your head elevated while lying down. Avoid intake of outside food. Avoid cold, carbonated beverages. I would suggest you to consult pulmonologist for proper examination. Doctor may order chest x-ray, blood test and check vitals along with vitals. Doctor may also refer you to ENT specialist for upper respiratory tract infection or post nasal drip or allergy specialist for asthma.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
