General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
Understand your concern
Pain during ovulation seen in 20-30 percent women, it is mild to moderate and last for 2-3 days. It is called Mittelschmerz sign.
Following are the reasons of it: Contraction of smooth muscle and ligaments of ovary, blood and fluid pass through ovary produce irritation and pain, ovarian follicle swelling during ovulation, Fallopian tube contraction, ovarian wall rupture as it pass through the wall (ovum pass through wall as no opening in ovary).
It is normal, disappear in 2-3 days. Take rest and analgesic if needed,
OCP may be useful in some case.
Hope this may help you
Best regards
