What Causes Cramping Pain In The Fingers After Taking Irbesartan Tablet?

Im 54 year old Latina female,I take thyroid medicine and IRBESAR for blood pressure....just recently lost my job and Heatlth ins. Figures now I have symtoms......Ive begun to experience alot of camping i.e. Charlie horses ,alot on my fingers and my feet and toes,also in my torso when I twist and move...kinda scary...when they happen

Hi,

You really wouldn't expect this with irbesartan. I cannot say in your particular case, but generally, electrolytes are a common cause and LOW POTASSIUM is not associated with irbesartan unless it is mixed with a fluid pill (in which case it's quite common). Potassium, magnesium and general electrolyte tests would show it and be quite inexpensive. Low pH in the blood from hyperventilation is one of the more common causes and might not show on the electrolytes if the symptoms are not happening at the time of the test.
