What Causes Cramping With Delayed Periods After Intercourse?

My gf and I have sex probably about 2 times a week on average and is currently going on her 6th week without her period. She is feeling normal but is having cramps, feels fine In the morning, but she said she's been really stressed out and we just went on summer vacation. We're 16 and we always use protection and the spermicidal capsules. Please help!

Hello,
If she has always had regular 28-30 day cycles, she should definitely get tested for pregnancy now. She can take a HPT with a fresh early morning sample of urine or get an assessment of the serum beta-hCG titres, which is more specific and sensitive and gives a better idea. If pregnancy can be excluded, the cause could be stress and subsequent hormonal imbalances. A trans-vaginal sonogram also would be helpful. Please see a specialist for further support either way. Hope you find this information useful. Take care.

Hi,

Welcome to healthcare magic. I have read your question.

I would like to reply as below:

1) This could be pregnancy though you use protection.

2) Please get pregnancy test done to confirm pregnancy.

3) If ot pregnant, this could be due to variaation since you are travelling and stress associated.

If you have any further queries, let me know so that I can help you much better.

Wish you good health.

Dr. Soumya
