What Causes Cramps And Pain In Left Side Of Abdomen With Burning Sensation In Lower Back?

I have left abdominal pain and cramping, not really moving from deep left side. Also have left lower back pain to touch, burning sensation lasting four days. No constipation ever or now. No diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, fever. Could they be related and maybe diverticulosis or litis symptoms?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You are experiencing cramps and pain in the left side of the abdomen and are also experiencing burning sensation in the lower back. Your symptoms may be indicative of sprain or strain, gas in the digestive tract, enlarged or ruptured spleen, diverticulitis, kidney infection, sciatica, peripheral neuropathy, etc.

You are suggested to get clinically examined by a general physician, get all required blood tests, imaging tests done. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected. You are suggested to take high fiber food to avoid constipation, take laxatives for better bowel movement. You can take antacids and PPIs, one SOS when needed for relieve from acidity.

Avoid taking spicy oily junk food. Take food good for the nerves, food rich in vitamin B6, B12, folic acid, etc. Get clinically examined by a neurologist, get Nerve conduction velocity tests done. You will be accordingly treated. Stay away from addictions if any.

Get connected to a Physical therapist, do regular exercises and maintain healthy weight. If overweight, maintain blood sugar level at all cost. For relieve you can take Combiflam or acetaminophen, one SOS when required after food. Gentle massage and warm compress may also be helpful.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
