General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As the intensity of the symptoms is severe, there can be the possibility of nerve root compression over the cervical region of the nape of the neck which can present with the narrated symptoms of numbness and severe pain in hands.

In my clinic, I thoroughly evaluate my such patients with a neurologic point of view and advise them MRI of the cervical spine if needed for in-depth analysis of tissue involvement and management.

Currently, you have to avoid excess angular movements of the nape of the neck with analgesic as ibuprofen will serve best till doctor meeting.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
