What Causes Cramps In The Hands And Legs Of A Liver Disease Patient?

Hi, my wife has en-stage liver disease, she had a tips procedure done in Feburary, however, she has had having worst complications, cramping, fatigue memory loss and slowness. Her sodium level is always low, she take many medication such as fluid pills, lactalose, iron, the doctors can not get her medications right. She has been Hospitalize 5 time within 4 months. She is up tonight with hand and leg cramps. we are at a loss

I can understand your concern.
Hyponatremia (low sodium) can be the cause for her leg and hand cramps.
Hyponatremia is very common in liver disease patients on diuretics (fluid pill).
So better to get done serum sodium level.
If sodium is too low (less than 120),she will need Intravenous 3% NaCl to increase sodium levels.
