What Causes Cramps In The Palms While Checking Blood Pressure?

I have been feeling cramps in my hands specifically in my palms in past few days. My palms get in to a sort of spasm and I can t move my finger for a while. It happens specially when anyone takes my blood pressure and put the blood and the BP cuff tightens.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Cramps can occur while the cuff is being tightened because there is a reduction in blood supply to the areas below the cuff.

It may last a few minutes or hours but should not last beyond that time. It is possible that there may underlying problems with either the blood supply or muscles if the discomfort is prolonged.

Your doctor may need to assess for this possibility.

I hope this helps
