What Causes Cramps Like Pain In Lower Abdomen During Pregnancy?

Hello Dr, am an MD pharmacologist and I am in my first month pregnancy. I have been suffering from sudden crampy pains since a week but then which is not continuous. I need to travel for almost 20min to reach my work place. This crampy pain in lower abdomen specially on left side worried me and spoke to my gynaecologist friend who said to go for a progesterone injection as precaution. Is there really something I must take care of these pains? Plz advice.

Dear member,
Thanks for writing.
You can take progesterone supplements capsule susten 200mg twice a day.
This will decrease the chance of abortion. also it's better to do a ultrasound scan to check whether there are any other complications .
