Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Cramps Radiating From Thigh To Back, Hands, Neck And Face?
52 year old, male, 5 10 approx 159 lbs, having muscle cramps and contortions staring in thigh, progressing up back, into arms and hands, then to neck and face, his head jerks to one side maybe 5 times then the symptoms subside. This is happening once a day lasting 2-4 minutes for the last month. He said his hand would cramp starting one year ago. I believe this is very serious he thinks it s not!
I think he should check the K levels in blood and the diuretics he may be taking. If this think has long time happening as a year this can be related to parathyroid issues.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
