Infectious Diseases Specialist 's  Response
Hello,
welcome to HCM
Thanks for posting your query in HCM.I understand your concerns.CREST syndrome is athe constellation of following features like calcinosis, Raynaud phenomenon, esophageal dysmotility, sclerodactyly, and telangiectasia.

Three primary pathologic features are found in scleroderma and include increased collagen deposition, perivascular mononuclear cell infiltration, and vascular abnormalities.

It is not a hereditary disease but is an autoimmune disorder with anti-nuclear and anti-centromere antibodies. So no need to worry. There is no worrisome for your husbands relatives.

Hope you are happy with the answer.

Thank you
