What Causes Crying For 30 Minutes To 8 Hours Non-stop?

I cry without any warning. I m not depressed. Crying (sobbing) lasts anywhere from 30 minutes to 8 hours nonstop. It happens about 2-3 times per week any time of day or night. It s been going on for about two months. I had an MRI and and EEG (I think that s what it s called) and they were both normal. I also have a slight tremor that occasionally affects both index fingers. The neurologist suggested possible dementia with lewey bodies. What else could it be? What should I do?

Hello

Uncontrolled crying or laughing may be due to injury to an area of the brain that control emotions. It is called pseudobulbar effect.
Other possibilities could be depression or anxiety etc.

Get an MRI of the brain and spine done. Then consult your neurophysician/ psychiatrist, they will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.
