What Causes Cyst On Shoulder?

I have a cyst on my shoulder and it feels like its eating away the bone. there is a big indentation in my shoulder bone like its eating my shoulder bone. My other shoulder bone is smooth from neck to arm my other is smooth until it hits the cyst. Is this normal and should I be worried?
