Hello and welcome to HCM, Dandruff is a chronic problem. It is actually fungal infection of the scalp. The dandruff can affect the beard also along with scalp. Accumulation of dandruff can lead to formation of scab. Adherent scabs when removed can bleed and there can be oozing out of tissue fluid also. The scabbing and bleeding can be avoided by treating the dandruff problem. Continue the use of anti-dandruff shampoo. Effects of shampoo appear when used regularly for considerable time. Scabbing should be avoided by using agents which keep the skin moistened. And when the scabs have formed, they should not be removed else it will cause bleeding and scarring in future.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
