What Causes Dark And Heavy Bleeding After Delivery?

One week postpartum I had a natural birth. Today a blood clot that was, I guess you could say stuck and wouldn t pass and when I went to try and get it out it was thick, dark and long about half a foot or so clot was being pulled out. I started bleeding a little more after that.

Do not worry about this, the clot had to pass out earlier but has been retained for a while. If the bleeding continues for more than 48 hours I would recommend you report to your obstetrician.
