What Causes Dark Bleeding, Odor And Left Abdomen Pain After An Abortion?

Hi,

I just underwent an abortion through medicines.
there was unusual dark bleeding with an odor for which my doctore prescribed AUGMENTIN 625.

I still experience pain in my lower abdomen (only the left side)

I just took a Meftal spas too for the pain.

what can this be?

Understand your concern
Dark bleeding after abortion is common as abortion process will start and that expels the conception product. It is dark because remain in the uterus and then comes out. Pain may occur due to uterine contraction. Pain and bleeding are occur normally after medical abortion and it will remain last for the 4-6 days as abortion process will complete.
But foul smells suggest infection so doctor gave you augmentin to cure abortion. Complete the course of antibiotics and maintain pelvic hygiene.
Also take rest and meftal spas for pain.
You should visit the doctor at 7th daynafter abortion and USG scan should be done at 14th day to confirm the complete process of abortion.
