What Causes Dark Bowel Movement While Suffering From An Upper Respiratory Infection?

Have been treated for a upper respiratory infection which occurred one week ago today. This evening I noticed my stool had turned almost dark like charcoal. Just happened today. I am still coughing a bit and not feeling much better I m 72 yrs and just returned from Europe Thursday. Feeling pretty fatigued and now worried over the change in stool color. Thank You for your thoughts. Edwina

this is malena and it has no relation with upper respiratory infection. malena is digested blood and source of bleeding is colon.source of bleeding is to be traced.
