What Causes Dark Brown Vaginal Discharge After Unprotected Sex?

I had unprotected sex with my husband after my last period for a month .. Now one week and a few days before my period is due I an experienceing red to dark brown watery discharge not enough for a tampon or pad I am also not getting my normal cramps or bloating just a headache .. I don t know if I a pregnant or my period is irregular

Thanks for trusting us with your health concern. From the description you have given, it appears that you are experiencing hormone imbalance. It is too early to detect any pregnancy and with the type of discharge that you are experiencing, it is likely to be a breakthrough bleeding. Implantation bleeding occurs around the expected period and is a fresh bleeding. If you wish to exclude pregnancy, you can get the estimation of the serum beta-hCG titres a week before your period is due followed by a trans-vaginal sonogram a week or two later. Hope this helps.
