What Causes Dark Discoloration On The Nipples?

I have noticed my nipples are getting darker change in shape and they have become somewhat softer. They also have white (grandular ) spots on them. One is dark and dry and the white dots are different sizes. Several of the white dots have came out and are hard yet soft. The other side you can just seem them. They are all over the tops of each one. They kinda feel like they are burning at times. Any thoughts

This is obviously an hormonal change. Pregnancy is the most common cause and anything that changes hormones LIKE pregnancy. Some birth control pills that hardly anyone takes will do this. Overweight with polycystic ovary syndrome will do this and is more common. It is associated with abnormal menstrual periods also. Several medications will do this including spironolactone and anti-psychotics
