What Causes Dark Menstrual Bleeding And Abdominal Pain While Taking Ipill?

Period has came two weeks earlier than normal, I am on the pill I get my period at the same time every month, so am only 2 weeks into my pill and having like black blood with a small bit of fresh blood, what could be the reason to this? I did wake up the other night feeling very hot and sick but I put it down to my dinner then the next day I had very sharp pains in my side when I spoke to someone they said that it was a sigh that my body's getting ready, very confussed x

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

Dark menstrual bleeding along with cramping means your periods have come early this month. You can take painkiller like tranexamic acid it will reduce your cramps. The early periods are due to high dose of hormone levonorgestrel 1.5 mg contained in emergency contraceptive pill such as Ipill. Hence your period might be early or late for next two cycles. This is a known side effect of taking emergency contraceptive pill.
Please use condoms or other methods of contraception to prevent unwanted pregnancy in future. Taking more than one emergency contraceptive pill in 3 months can cause serious side effects
