What Causes Dark Purple Bruising After Having Blood Drawn?
I had blood drawn yesterday (Tuesday). A few hours later, a large dark purple bruise showed up below my elbow. It s about the size of a large man s thumb. Then tonight, my upper arm is warm and sort of red. I ve never in my life bruised like this. Should I have it checked? And by who?

Your symptoms suggests it could be hematoma. I advise you to apply local thrombophobe ointment which will resolve the hematoma. If the size increases or if you have severe pain then consult a surgeon.
