I have dark rashes on my face due to shaving. I was using 3 blade razor but for a year or so I used 2 blade. That is how it happened. But it didn t go after I reverted back to 3 blade. It has decreased after i started applying after shave. Please suggest some solution.
Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic
I will keep a possibility of either phototoxic dermatitis with post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation Or contact sensitivity to aftershave lotions. Fragrance present in aftershave lotions is the most common contact allergen and can lead to pigmentation. I suggest you to stop using after shave. If I was the treating doctor I would have asked you to use a mid potent topical steroid e.g mometasone furoate 0.1% cream, twice daily. I also suggest you to use a broad spectrum sunscreen throughout the day to prevent sun induced darkening.
