What Causes Dark Red Scab Near Vaginal Opening?

I have never had sex before and the other morning I woke up and felt something hard on the inside of my virgina, so I had a look and it was a soft looking scab like thing it is white with dark red around it. It sometimes stings a bit, it is close to my virginal opening. What is it?
