What Causes Dark Skin Complexion After Taking Ivermectin?

We have a friend who has been taking this ivermectin orally.We feel his complexion has changed..Is this a side effect?He used to have a very light complexion and it is quite apparent that his complexion has changed.He now looks very,very dark.He is quite obese and swears he has parasites that he is treating with Ivermectin which is the stuff that you treat monthly for the prevention of heartworms in dogs. He has been taking enough for a 500 pound man and is self treating.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have dark skin complexion after taking Ivermectin. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query, but in your case the dark skin complexion is probably occurring due to ivermectin as its side effects . Ivermectin is known to cause skin rashes and other skin problem as its side effects. I would suggest you to consult your doctor who prescribe this medicine and discuss the condition . Doctor may alter the dose or prescribed substitute . For now apply kojic acid cream twice a day .
