What Causes Dark Spot On Inside Wall Of Vagina?

Hello, I just noticed on the inside wall of my vagina close to the opening , there is a dark spot. it dos not hurt, itch, nor is it a bump. I have not have sexual course since 2003, and my pap that i had at the beginning of the year came back normal. i am 48 years old and my doctor said i may be in the premenopausal stage . i ve never had this before...ever. Please advise.

Hello.

Slight discoloration can be normal, and yes even so when you approach menopause due to various hormonal changes. I would not say this is cause for concern, stay healthy and go about regular Pap smears and all shall be well.
