What Causes Dark Spots Between The Stomach Fold And Breast?

I have dry dark spots between my breast, and between my stomach fold. They dont itch. When i bring my skin together they look ashy when i dont it looks dark. They peel sometimes but the darkness never goes away. Ive had it for about 5 years now. What could it be?
