What Causes Dark Spots On The Forearm?

I keep getting dark spots on my forearms only. Looks like maybe blood right under the skin. It s so bad, people ask about it all the time. There is no pain. Usually very itchy before it forms. My doctor doesn t seem to be concerned and thinks I should see a dermatologist. I think it s something internal. Maybe my gluten intolerance, not sure.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As you stated, it would be best to see a dermatologist for assessment.

The changes may be due to infection or autoimmune response.

A dermatologist would be able to determine the cause and initiate treatment for you.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James,
General & Family Physician
