What Causes Dark Spots Under Nails?

I had my bi weekly pedicure and once the Polish was removed I noticed a dark spot under my nail the now isn t this color cup discolored just the dark spot I pressed against the nail where the spot is its sword but the nail is still hard what could this be and waiting for calls I had my bi-weekly perdicure, and once the polish was removed, I noticed a dark spot under my toenail. The nail isn t discolored, just the dark spot. I pressed against the nail where the spot is. It s sore, and the nail still has hardness. What could this be, and what is the cause?

It is likely a fungal infection of the nail.

Fungal infections of the nail beds either finger nails or toe nails require the use of oral anti fungal medication.

The oral anti fungal medication normally have to be used for a prolonged period of time to treat toe nail infections.
Eg of medications are lamisil, sporonox, fluconazole
