What Causes Dark Urination After Removal Of A Lap Band?

I just had my Lapband removed after I received a hematoma from a port fill which the infected the port site. Post surgery I am day 4 and type 1 diabetic and my urine still very dark. Should I be concerned? I haven t needed to wee very much 1-2 times per day. I don t want to be unnecessarly alarmed if it is not an issue. Thanks. Nic

Hello! Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

The dark colored urine is because of the inadequate fluid intake. If the intake of fluid (water or any liquid) is increasing, then dark urine settles down and you need not be alarmed. If oral diet is allowed by the treating doctor then adequate water should be taken orally.

Take care
