What Causes Dark Vaginal Spotting During Menstruation?

Last month (March) I didn't not get my period at its regular time I got my period a little later than usual. I usually get it early in the month id say between the 4-12 I got it around the 28/29. It was normal nothing wrong. But now (April 22) I've been getting some dark red to brown spotting and discharge for the past couple days. I'm not sure what is going on. Should I be worried or is this normal. Please help

I have gone through your Query & I really appreciate your concern about the problem you are facing.

As a physician i would like to tell you that changed consistency and period of menstruation could point to many underlying problems. Also, if you are using any hormonal contraceptives or have just ended their use, they are also going to affect characteristics and length of your menstrual cycles.

Any type of discharge is not normal in between periods. So, i would like to suggest you that you should visit a Gynecologist as soon as possible and have a physical examination done to rule out any abnormal cause leading to your symptoms.
