What Causes Darkness In The Skin After Using Clop-G Cream?

I was given to use Clop-G due to swelling, infection and burn on my face. The new skin coming in my face is growing little dark. Looking like spot in face. Doctor has advised to continue using clop-G for 30 days in total. Will it help in removing the scars or spots?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi & Welcome.

It is due to side effect of the prescribed medication.
Clop G Cream contains Clobetasol, and Gentamicin.

Clobetasol a strong steroid which should never to be used on face and is prone to cause dry skin, prominent blood vessels reddish-purple discoloration of skin, atrophy (thinning) of the skin and hair growth.

It is not effective in removing the scars or spots on the facial skin.
You are advised to consult a dermatologist for proper clinical examination and you may be prescribed certain effective but safer medication like Kojic acid or vitamin A containing creams.

Hope this will help.
