What Causes Decrease In Waist Circumference Of Baby During Pregnancy?
hii doctor, i am 36 weeks now, had an ultrasound and they said that me baby is about 6 lbs but his waist circumference has decreased from the last one,, so suggested me for another ultrasound and told that they will induce labour if it further decreases. What can be the reason? is there any need to worry ?

Hello dear,I understand your concern.In my opinion
waist circumference(AC) you are saying might be abdominal circumference
of the baby.Usually AC is taken as growth indicator in fetus.
If AC is decreased it means there is intrauterine growth retardation
and it need to be delivered depending on.if IUGR is moderate or severe.
So dont worry as you are term and baby weight is not that low
prognosis will be good.Relax.
