What Causes Decreased Bilirubin Levels While On Lamisil?

I started taking Limasil (terbinafine) for a toenail fungus. Doing monthly blood tests for liver function. All were in the normal range after the first month. After the second month again all were in normal range but I noticed that the Bilirubin, Total was dropping. It was 0.9 before I started Limasil, 0.6 after the first month and 0.3 after the second month. When I look up Bilirubin on the internet, it only talks about high levels. Any idea what this means? I am 74 years old on a statin drug, and high blood pressure pill both low levels.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As you stated, bilirubin is mainly a problem at high levels, low levels are not typically associated with symptoms.

You do not worry about these levels but if you remain concerned, you should speak to your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James,
