What Causes Decreased Urine Output In An Infant?

my 10 month hadn t peed for 12 hours from yesterday to today. He ended up peeing this morning and once more this afternoon. I am approaching 8 hours until his last pee now. I took him to the doctor today and they recommended pedialyte which I gave him but he didnt take much. He has thrown up several times in the past couple of days, but is otherwise acting happy and normal. He has tears and has been drooling so he is not that dehydrated but I am worried. Should I take him to the emergency room?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The decreased urine output is due to less input in comparison with output or body requirement.

As there is volume compromise, less urine is formed and excreted.

Giving plenty of liquids, control of vomiting and other hidden infections if any need to be corrected for proper urine output.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
