Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My pulse is usually about 76ish but tonight it is about 60. I am a 19 year old female with no medical history. Does this slow pulse seem like a problem? I'm maybe feeling a wee bit light-headed bbetut not much really and it could just be due to the worry about my pulse...
Greetings, welcome to HealthCare Magic. Thank you for your question. I carefully read your query.
The pulse rate or heart rate you provided is not worrisome. Everyone experiences heart rate fluctuations within a day, due to various changes that happen in organism, normal changes. These normal changes happen in the physical, psychological and hormonal and autonomous components of the human organism system. The normal heart rate is 60-100 beats per minute. One-time measuring cannot be conclusive about the heart rate, because, as I mentioned above, it is a variable component. It should become worrisome if this heart rate, especially in a young, active young lady, drops to less than 45 beats per minute. The accompanying symptoms you are experiencing are probably from the fear you are going through. My opinion is that no further investigations are warranted and that you have nothing to worry about.
I hope I was helpful. Wish you a good health.
Best regards, Dr. Meriton
