What Causes Delay In Conception Despite Taking Clomid?
Hi There! I hope you can help me with my question: I ve been trying to get pregnant. I m 32 years old and very healthy. I was in bird control for 15 years and I stopped in December. Since then I m sure that I have ovulate every month. Last month dot put me in Clomid 150mg once a day for 5 days. I have ovulated but didn t get pregnant. Is good to take clomid even if you ovulate on your own? I m worry that it will mess up something and instead of help me to get pregnant it will stop it. Thanks for your time! Virginia
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Clomid contains clomiphene citrate, which is used to treat infertility in women. It works by stimulating an increase in the amount of hormones that support the growth and release of a mature egg (ovulation). Even if you are ovulating normally, clombid can be taken as it could act as an adjunct for the process of ovulation. If you are anxious to conceive, it would be better to time the intercourse along with medication by means of follicular scan, which would improve the chances for fertilization and implantation at a much earlier time. Kindly consult Gynecologist for further evaluation and management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
