What Causes Delay In Menstruation After Stop Using Ipills?
yes! Thank you. I was on birth control for 2 years. I stopped taking it in May of 2014 because i was missing pills here and there. I had my period normally still after I stopped taking the pill. In August of 2014 I didn't have my period and since then I still haven't. I've taken pregnancy tests multiple times on two different occasions and they were negative every time. I'm just really confused as to why I'm not having it. Thanks.
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Oral contraceptives lead to hormonal changes in body. Sometimes, after its withdrawal it takes few days to resume normal menstrual cycle. However, if your periods are delayed by 2 months and the urine pregnancy test is negative, then other causes like hormonal disturbances like hypothyroidism, hyperprolactemia or polycystic ovarian disease should be ruled out. I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined, investigated and treated accordingly. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Dr Deepti Verma
