Hi,
I understand your concern.
Usually hormonal pills are given in raised dose for a short course ( Regestrone 1 tab. three times a day for 3 days)which follows withdrawal bleeding in 8 days of stopping the pills.
If the problem repeats you need further consideration-next month,
There are number of reasons for missed periods apart om pregnancy-like physical/psychological stress, long standing illness, sever anemia, hormonal imbalance, thyroid problems, PCOD,fibroid uterus ...
Investigations like blood work, thyroid function test,USG abdomen, hormonal assay are to be done after primary physical check up by a gynecologist to pin point the cause followed by specific treatment.
Thanks.
